every once in awhile there’s a song that never fails to make you bounce around in your seat and smile, no matter if you’re caught in traffic and fifteen minutes late to pick up your little sister from her friend’s house, no matter if your entire day has been completely unproductive and you feel fat and even so you ate ice cream and cheez-its after dinner, no matter what other self-indulgent and ridiculous unhappinesses you perpetuate regularly it reaches right through them—and yeah, maybe you’ve made up your own little bobbing dance to it, yeah, maybe you have fallen in love with a progression of musical notes, maybe you’ve lost it but somehow that’s not unreasonable.
